
A versatile and accomplished tuba and serpent performer, Harumi Baba-Dath has built an international career as both a musician and educator. A graduate of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse of Lyon in France and Showa University of Music in Japan, she holds multiple diplomas, including a master’s degree in music and a teaching diploma. Since 2009, she has taught tuba and serpent at the regional conservatories of Perpignan and Montpellier, nurturing the next generation of brass musicians while actively participating in festivals, workshops, and masterclasses across France and beyond.
As a performer, Harumi has appeared with major orchestras such as the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse, Orchestre National de Montpellier, and the Opéra National de Lorraine, and has collaborated in a wide array of ensembles, from contemporary music groups to early music consorts. Her artistic projects include solo performances, chamber music premieres, and innovative collaborations blending visual arts and music. Awarded prizes in international competitions and recognized for their contributions to both performance and pedagogy, Harumi Baba-Dath continues to explore the full expressive range of low brass instruments in diverse musical contexts.
