Andrew Bove is from Massapequa Park, New York, and now enjoys a diverse career as a freelance musician, music producer, audio engineer, and video content creator. Andrew has been based in New York City since 1999, where he lives with his wife, singer Toni Dolce. He can be heard playing tuba and cimbasso on numerous motion pictures, including: “The Greatest Showman”, “Keeping up with the Joneses”, “A Dog’s Purpose”, “Zoolander 2”, “Hail, Caesar!”, “The Light Between Oceans”, “Noah”, “To Rome with Love”, "Moonrise Kingdom", and "True Grit", among others. He has performed on commercial recordings, film soundtracks, and TV themes for companies such as HBO, CBS, NBC, Discovery Channel, ESPN, Coca-Cola, United Airlines, Sony, Electronic Arts, Paramount Pictures, Summit, Albany, Centaur, EMI Virgin and Hip-Bone.
As an orchestral musician, Mr. Bove has performed with a wide variety of classical and commercial ensembles ranging from the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra to the Radio City Christmas Spectacular and numerous Broadway shows. Mr Bove is in high demand as a chamber musician as well, and has performed and recorded with many small ensembles, including the Extension Ensemble and the American Brass Quintet. Through his boutique audio production company, Bove Audio, Andrew has produced and engineered recordings for many of the country’s finest musicians, including three acclaimed albums with the Metropolitan Opera Brass. His debut solo album Cimbasso d’Amore, the world’s first solo cimbasso album, was the highest rated classical recording on Amazon in 2010.
Mr. Bove is involved in media production as both a content creator and director of photography. He is the creator of the “Epic Low Brass Game of Thrones” YouTube video (over 1 Million views), and is the technical director for Purple Critter Media, which specializes in producing multi-faceted projects involving video production, photography, and creative development.
Andrew was a three-time recipient of the orchestral tuba fellowship from the Aspen Music Festival and has performed at many other festivals, including the Tanglewood Music Center, Music Academy of the West, National Repertory Orchestra, New World Symphony, and the Pierre Monteux School. Mr. Bove is a graduate of The Juilliard School and Northwestern University, and served as a teaching assistant at Arizona State University. He has taught at the Bar Harbor Brass Week, Sarah Lawrence College, Kean University, Queens College, and is currently a faculty member at The Juilliard School Pre-College Division.
